Presentation Guidelines

Oral Presentation Guidelines
  • All presentations and questions must be in English, as English is the official language of the conference.
  • The time allocated for a presentation is 15 minutes, with a further 5 minutes allowed for discussion.
  • Computers and projectors will be available at each conference room. Speakers should bring their presentation on a USB memory stick in order to transfer it to the computer in the presentation room. The room staff will assist you to upload your file to the computer. You will not generally be able to plug your own laptop into the conference projection system.
  • Prepare your slides as a PowerPoint or a PDF file. To avoid software compatibility problems, speakers are advised to put both Microsoft Powerpoint and PDF versions of their presentation on the USB stick.
  • Speakers should arrive in their session room at least 10 minutes before the start of their session to upload their file (if not done before) and to report to the Session Chair. Files can also be uploaded before, during the breaks between the sessions.
  • If you need special material for your presentation (e.g. embedded video) please contact dcis2023@uma.es by November 13.
  • Speakers are invited to prepare a short biographical note (not more than 3-5 text lines), and hand it to the session Chair before the start of the session. These short notes will be used by session Chairs for introducing each speaker.

Poster Presentation Guidelines
Poster preparation
Poster presenters are requested to bring their own poster to the  conference. The required poster size is A1 (no larger than 60 cm high  and 90 cm wide), and landscape oriented. All presentations and questions  must be in English, as English is the official language of the  conference.

Also important:

  • Posters may be prepared on one sheet (strongly suggested method) or alternatively on several smaller sheets.
  • The text, illustrations, etc. should be bold enough to be read from a distance of two meters.
  • Material for attaching the poster will be available in the poster  area for hanging posters. Staff will also available to assist you with  poster location. Putting up the poster will be done by each author.

Poster presentation - PhD competition
The PhD poster competition will take place during Wednesday 15/11/2023 and Thursday 16/11/2023. Posters will be displayed these two days in the hall between Room A and Room B, so that the DCIS attendees can see them during most of the conference.

Authors are invited to:

Put up their poster on 15/11/2023 between 8:30h and 11:30h.
Stand next to their poster during the two coffee breaks of these two days, in order to present their research advances and discuss with the conference attendees. The poster exhibition area is also where coffee breaks are served, trying to promote interaction between presenters and attendees.
